Gary Williams (Musician/Instructor)
Main instruments: drums/guitar/bass
guitar
"For Gary, music started at age 5
with a single toy drum and a few frying
pans. After upgrading to a full drum set
and percussion, professional playing
started around age 15 in various local
bands, playing covers and original
material. Lots has happened since then
with much recording, touring, and song
writing that has gained national and
overseas album releases and worldwide
press. Drum instruction began after
graduating from Musicians Institute with
honors. Later guitar, bass, music law,
workshops, and session events followed.
Gary has developed exclusive curriculum
evolving into a full music school
program, including multiple instructional
books so far - only available through the
MusicSpeak Education Program. New
MusicSpeak programs are added all time
including several workshops, student
showcases, music business counseling,
etc., and the expansion of the MusicSpeak
Publishing, MusicSpeak Productions,
MusicSpeak Member Network, MusicSpeak
Gear (the official online shop),

My own experience started with an early
obsession for musical knowledge at age 5.
It's been not only for a focus on
performing on stage, but on education,
instruction, musical history, and on the
writing, production, and on the creative
side. I teach from a unique
multi-instrument point of view in
relation to composition, application, and
even to listening, and of course spend
lots of time on technique and practice
routines. I am an honors graduate from
Musicians Institute, and following my
time at the Percussion Institute of
Technology have studied with countless
studio greats and touring musicians. The
largest impact on my whole experience has
been the years spent on the road, touring
and performing original music, most of
which was as a long term band member,
co-founder, writer role. The business has
changed so much in just a few years but I
have dealt with record deals, contracts,
lawyers, trademarks, copyright,
publishing, international media and
radio, promotions and publicist
companies, and the legal end in my work.
My musical time is now largely spent
writing, recording, and producing for
MusicSpeak, and only for select outside
projects. I've been instructing with the
crew at VERMONT ROCK CAMP
(rockmusiccamp.com) since 2007, have
conducted exclusive workshop programs at
area schools, HowardCenter in Burlington,
and have been expanding the Musicspeak
Education Program to be available for
students in new areas.

"Gary Williams' inventive drumming
is the highlight. He plasters his beats
with staccato double kick flurries and
aggressive hand/foot combos that turn
every song into a rhythmic tour de
force" (From Modern Drummer print
magazine)
"MusicSpeak is the project of
versatile multi-instrumentalist and music
educator Gary Williams. Clearly, from a
spin or two, Williams precision and
skillfulness in song composition and
musicianship is self-evident." (From
Classic Rock Society print magazine)
